Hostess Brands is committed to making the workplace safer, and every year, we strive to reduce accidents and safeguard against future safety issues. Our Total Recordable Injury Rate (TRIR) and Lost Time Incidence Rate (LTR) continue to improve year over year, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to workplace safety. Throughout 2021, we were able to maintain our 3-year trend of reducing workplace accidents and lost time, achieving rates better than industry standards.

Food Safety & Quality Programs

We have robust food safety and quality programs in place to ensure our products are safe for our consumers and to maintain our high-quality standards at all of our bakeries and distribution centers.

  • Each of our facilities maintains a food safety plan, which is reassessed annually by the management team at each facility. The food safety plan includes a Hazard Analysis and Risk Based Preventive Controls ("HARPC"), a supplier approval program and other food safety controls.
  • All of our operating facilities have Global Food Safety Initiative ("GFSI") benchmarked certifications and many of our ingredients are sourced from suppliers which are GFSI benchmark certified.
